Christmas in Scotland

Love builds hope

When crisis threatens some of the world’s toughest places, love builds hope. Join the Church of Scotland and Christian Aid this Advent as we bring hope to our neighbours in Ethiopia.

Give a gift from your church to build hope for our neighbours still facing crisis

A Christmas conversation with the Moderator

Sally Foster-Fulton sat down for a chat with the Moderator of the Church of Scotland Rev Dr Martin Fair. They talked about locusts in Ethiopia, expectant waiting and Christmas shopping for Teletubbies!

Ethiopia's 2020 crisis

In Ethiopia, people living in poverty are on the frontline of the climate crisis. Locusts are swarming, encouraged by the long droughts and heavy rains.  Read more about our work with the Scottish Government in Ethiopia.

Locusts, coronavirus and climate change

Desert locusts eat their own body weight daily. A small swarm eats the same amount of food as 35,000 people in just one day.

Devastating locusts

Thanks to the Scottish Government’s Humanitarian Fund, we were able to help farmers in Ethiopia recover after the locust plagues.

Carols for Christian Aid

Last year, Churches across Scotland joined our scratch choir singing Carols for Christian Aid. Inspired by Scottish supporters, churches across the UK will sing “When out of poverty is born” this November. Let’s raise the roof once again!
