Enhancing locally-led child safeguarding in Syria

Within Syria’s fragmented education sector, safeguarding policies have lacked community ownership and child abuse remains prevalent. Christian Aid, CAFOD, Islamic Relief, Child Guardians and Basmeh & Zeitooneh piloted interventions co-designed with local communities, which are more effective and sustainable than imported models without compromising on safeguarding standards. 

This briefing report includes learnings from the education sector in Syria.
