Partnership for Change: Christian Aid in Kenya

Download the resource

Christian Aid has been working in Kenya since 1997, in partnership with local civil society agencies, public authorities, private sector actors, churches and other religious organisations.

We are working to build community capacities and create enabling environments in which men, women and children can thrive and break out of chronic cycles of poverty.

Maria Jatane from Moyale, northern Kenya, said: ‘We were like blind people and now we can see.’ The resilient livelihoods approach has empowered people like Maria to take charge of their development and put in place community measures to protect themselves against drought, disease and conflict

We support poor and marginalised communities to anticipate, organise, adapt, respond to, and cope with climate change and related disasters.

Our work helps communities take advantage of opportunities and work with their local government to demand good quality public services.

We currently work with 44 partners in 25 counties.
