This scorecard assesses the issues and recommendations made by the annual Auditor General's report, and whether they've been implemented by the MDAs.
The role of the public service is to deliver goods and services with integrity, and in a way that ensures efficiency and effectiveness.
The Audit Service provides external oversight on the operations of government, its management of finance, and delivery of public services. It submits annual report to Parliament on the handling of government finances.
Past annual reports have highlighted cash losses to the public purse worth billions of Leones (Le).
Every year, the Auditor General’s report comes up with similar findings and recommendations. However, little improvement or follow-up from MDAs have been observed.
