Liliana lives in Colombia. When she was just nine years old, she lost her father due to conflict. Experiencing such pain at a young age, Liliana had no sense of safety.
But thanks to you, Liliana feels safe now. She lives with her 6-year-old daughter, Heidi, in a protected zone where armed actors and weapons are not allowed.
With help from our local partner, she is now the leader of the youth group in her community.
Liliana now has the power she needs to build a more peaceful future. And her daughter can grow up safe from harm.
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge... you save me from violence.
- 2 Samuel 22:3-4 .
This passage reminds us that the Lord, our refuge, will always keep us safe.
God is our protection
Though Liliana is still living in a place torn apart by conflict, she feels safe. If we seek refuge in God, we will find his protection. God can protect us from any battle we face, and this passage reminds us of the importance of turning to the Lord when we feel afraid.
No weapon shall prosper
No matter what life throws your way, the Lord will always keep us from our enemies. Liliana is still living in a conflict zone, but with the help of your prayers and the work of our partners, no weapons can prosper.
Pray for people like Liliana who have found safety but are still facing conflict on their doorsteps everyday.
Continue to pray for Christian Aid’s partners all around the world. We still have much work to do to tackle climate change, social injustice, gender inequality and displacement.
Continue to pray for your global neighbours. Pray their lives may continue to grow from strength to strength.
Thank you so much for walking with us on this journey so far. We are sad to say this will be the last Kingdom Journey update you will receive. We hope your journey to God’s kingdom continues as you put your faith into action.
Will you keep in touch?
Thank you as always for your support.
