Building a tea legacy

ITL supporter Richard Todd recently made a long-awaited return to Bangladesh. He reflects on time spent with men and women escaping low-paid jobs breaking rocks, and securing a future for their families by cultivating tea.

The EqualiTea project is making good progress in its first year. All of the 1,000 farmers which it  helps now have tea saplings. Many of the producer groups are planning to lend money to even poorer farmers in the area and outside of the project, 13,000 farmers are following the same model and improving their livelihoods by growing tea.
