For 80 years, Christian Aid has provided long-term development support and humanitarian relief worldwide, highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing people’s rights.

As our 80th year comes to a close, we reflect on what we’ve achieved. In 2024/25, Christian Aid and our global partners have reached millions, helping them overcome poverty, rebuild lives and face the challenges of today’s world.

With your support, we work to achieve one mission: to end poverty and injustice, and to build a world where everyone can live with dignity, equality and hope.

Stories of impact from around the globe

How working closely with our partners on the ground has made tangible, lasting change this year.

Refuge and respite in Gaza

When Darine* and her children fled the fighting in Gaza, our partner CFTA, the Culture and Free Thought Association, offered shelter. In the beachside camp where the family found refuge, CFTA also provided drinking water, food and children’s activities. Eleven-year-old Fatima* has kept up her hobby of making bracelets, but six-year-old Hasan* misses his room and his toys.

Making chocolate in Guatemala

In Aurelia’s highland community, extreme heatwaves and unpredictable rains mean that the crops are no longer reliable.

Drawing on training from our partner Congcoop, Aurelia has adapted her farming practices to better cope with the conditions, and now trains other women, like Sofia, in these new techniques.

Rapid response in Kenya

When disaster strikes, every second counts: our partners in affected areas respond at once, and we stand with them.

In April, Mercy, her husband and their children were forced to flee their home in Kenya after a warning call about approaching floodwaters, and when they returned  the floods had destroyed their home and all their chickens – her livelihood – were lost, and our partner ADS provided emergency cash to help her get back on her feet.
