Yemen Crisis Appeal

Millions of people in Yemen do not know where their next meal will come from

Ongoing conflict across Yemen has pushed one of the world’s poorest countries to breaking point.

More than 10 million people need immediate lifesaving humanitarian assistance. We must reach families with food, clean water and healthcare quickly, before it’s too late.

In the last year, the escalating conflict has killed over 7,000 people, displaced more than 2 million and lost the country $19 billion.

How we're helping

Last December, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), of which Christian Aid is a member, launched an emergency appeal for people facing hunger in Yemen. This raised an amazing £24 million.

Through DEC funds, we are supporting our partner, Action Against Hunger (ACF), who has been working in Yemen since 2012, to treat malnutrition and provide healthcare to families.

We have reached more than 3,000 malnourished children, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers with nutritional support interventions/activities.

In the coming months, we will continue to fight malnutrition, aiming to reach at least 20,000 children. Our focus will also be on preventing and reducing cholera, and improving water and sanitation to reduce the risk of diarrhoea and other diseases.

With your support, we can reach even more children and families at risk of harmful diseases.
