Stories from Colombia: tackling displacement

Zainab and Adrian visited various communities in the north western Urabá region, one of the priority areas in Colombia’s peace process.

They reflected that huge progress has been made by our partners in enabling and empowering these communities to fight for their rights. But there remains work to be done to address the plight of internally displaced people.

Crowded together in a communal space with representatives from the indigenous and African Colombian people, they heard one person after another say that they want to live on their land peacefully and ‘without fear’.
Here Norelia shares her determination to address the impact of displacement on women.
