‘’I’d already walked most sections of the Fife Coastal Path and looked for another route which could be accessed easily and did not involve overnight stays.’’

The whole route was walked over 6 days and passed several abbeys and churches along the way, including Markinch Church which displayed a large Christian Aid banner! Andrew used public transport both at the start and at the end of each day’s route.

Andrew raised £605.00 for Christian Aid and Gift Aided donations raised an additional £115.00!

Commenting on the experience and on what’s next for him, Andrew said:

‘’I was both surprised and pleased by the number and size of some of the donations made so hope to repeat this in Christian Aid Week 2022 by undertaking the Borders Abbeys Walk, a 67-mile circular route from Melrose to Kelso, Jedburgh, Hawick, Selkirk and back to Melrose.’’
