Storm Ali was not enough to put off Christian Aid’s intrepid climate campaigners at the Mass Lobby of the Scottish Parliament in September.

Christian Aid campaigners have been persistent in calling on the Scottish Government to ensure that the upcoming Climate Change Bill fulfils Scotland’s commitments to the Paris Agreement and keeps climate emissions to below 1.5 degrees.

In September, 80 constituents who had travelled from all corners of Scotland met their MSPs at the Stop Climate Chaos Mass Lobby of Parliament. The 25 MSPs, which included 3 party leaders, represented all of the main political parties.

Christian Aid supporters showed tremendous passion and knowledge in their conversations with their MSPs. Earlier in the day, we also met outside the Scottish Parliament to tell MSPs "don't gamble with #oorfuture".

Next steps

It is vital that we all play our part in ensuring that Scotland cuts a better deal on climate. By standing together, we can improve lives not only here in Scotland but also those of our global neighbours who often feel the impacts of climate chaos first and worst. If you weren’t able to join us at the mass lobby, please email your MSP about the Climate Bill now.

In the New Year we’ll be unveiling exciting new ways to use your lobbying skills and continue putting pressure on MSPs. Stay tuned!
