Up and down the UK, churches and Christian Aid Groups have been putting paint, pencils and paper where their prayers are as we stand up for debt and climate justice.

Taking time to reflect on poverty driven by the debt and climate crises, they’ve been sharing their hopes, prayers and messages for a restored world.

These precious prayers and artworks are being gathered together for the Restore Pot – a beautiful piece of art made from the contributions of Christians around the UK. This piece of craftivism will be presented to UK decision makers in a call for debt and climate justice.

Take a look at what’s been happening so far and how you, your church and community can get involved.

Hopes and prayers for a restored world

Four stories of church groups creatively combining prayer and action across the UK

Bury, Greater Manchester

Children and adults had fun getting creative at Bury Ecofest sharing their hopes and prayers.

“One highlight for me was hearing how children felt empowered to share their own voices and priorities” Zoe Abernethy

All ages can be part of speaking up for justice!

Bloxham, Oxfordshire

In Bloxham, a group reflected on the extreme storms that had hit Florida that week, and the global impacts of the climate crisis on those living in poverty.

Taking inspiration from the restoration we find in the Easter story, this beautiful lino print was crafted and printed on the newspaper story about the storm.

Faifley and Duntocher, Dunbartonshire

Faifley and Duntocher Church of Scotland's guild members shared their prayers and hopes for a restored world. One contribution read:

"I would like to see a world where the rich did not grow richer at the expense of the poorest. I pray that real change can happen for a fair, more equal world"

Wrexham, Wales

In Wales, we launched The Restore Campaign at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham.

Festival goers signed petitions to their MPs and Members of the Senedd, and young people crafted hope-filled messages, creating a vision of a world where nature can thrive, where communities flourish and where peace is restored.

A powerful message

The Restore Pot action was launched at Greenbelt in 2025.

Festival goers began the work of bringing together a powerful message of solidarity for all who are impacted by the climate and debt crises.
