Giving in memory at your loved one’s funeral

Each gift in memory we receive is unique and speaks of the love for the person in whose memory it is given.

Thank you so much for considering making such a special gift to us.

We understand that planning a funeral is a very difficult time, ever more so now in these challenging times of coronavirus. Our thoughts are with you, and if you would prefer to talk to someone in person about making your gift, please call our In Memory Giving team on 020 7523 2173.

How we can help

You can choose from our education, water or agriculture work. Or you may prefer us to simply use gifts for our work in general, to support any of our life-changing projects. Whichever area of our work you decide to support, we can provide:

  • a short paragraph for your order of service explaining how gifts will be used.
  • if you wish, a short prayer that marks your loved one’s care for others.

How to give your gift

Unfortunately for the moment, due to coronavirus, we are unable to take any donations by post. Please give via our in memory online page where possible, or call our supporter care team on 020 7523 2493 to donate by telephone.

Your funeral director will often be able to help you collate gifts, and given the current coronavirus situation may be able to advise you of ways to give online rather than via cash and cheque. Or they may be able to help you collate your gift, and then pay this directly to Christian Aid – and we can provide details directly to the funeral director where this is needed.

You also have the option of setting up a tribute page in memory of your loved one using our in memory giving site A Light in this World

We are here to help. Please contact Kerry or Gill if you have any questions at all, by emailing or calling 020 7523 2173.’

How gifts in memory help our work

Eleri Twynog Davies, who gave in memory of her mother, travelled to Bolivia to see how these special gifts are changing lives.
