International Volunteer Day, held on the 5 December each year, offers an opportunity to celebrate the amazing efforts of Christian volunteers and celebrate their impact. This year, Jess Hall, Christian Aid's Campaigns and Organising Officer shares her reflections on the power of our volunteer campaigners.
This year our campaigners have hosted Talking Climate Justice events, taken action with their churches and communities on Make Polluters Pay Action Day, lobbied MPs and more, some are already hatching plans for climate justice hustings ahead of the next General Election!
Christian Aid exists to dismantle the systems and structures that keep people poor. And that’s exactly what our volunteers do.
It’s not always glamourous, but they chip away at injustice inviting their churches along with them.
It’s a total joy to cheer them on from the sidelines, I’m both grateful for and proud of what they do.
Congratulations to all our Campaign Organisers and Constituency Campaigners for the work you do in pursuit of justice! Bring on 2024!
