Christian Aid Week in Scotland
Christian Aid Week 2020 was a week like no other. Coronavirus locked down the country and suspended our plans for a celebration full of Bridge Walks, book fairs and coffee mornings.
We feared for our global neighbours.
But while coronavirus impacts us all, love unites us all. Our supporters reached out to neighbours near and far without even leaving the house.
You flooded our social media with pictures of helping hands and jars of love. We saw you walking and jogging and climbing. We loved your videos! We listened in as you spoke to your congregations, held live haircuts and online quizzes.
Each effort lifted our spirits. And all your gifts will help families around the world to overcome poverty and injustice, wherever the need is greatest.
Andrew walked 2 miles around his local area every day during Christian Aid Week and raised £900.
Rev Dr Martin Johnstone took on a 300km running challenge raising over £4000.
The new Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Martin Fair, hosted a fantastic quiz raising over £1000.
St Mary’s Motherwell's congregation undertook vigorous keep fit workouts, dressed in red and made beautifully creative hand designs.
Elaine Cameron cycled 100km around Perth’s North Inch and fundraised over £600.
Langside Parish Church hosted a Concert for Health Justice raising £1712.
You still have time to donate. Every gift will help bring hope to families around the world.
