We continue to have staff based at home across Wales, who CSET will put you in contact with if they are better placed to help.

Helen Roach

Helen is our Central Supporter Engagement Officer for Wales, based in the national office in Cardiff.

Helen Roach CSET

Helen studied theology at university and comes to Christian Aid with a background in working for a range of charities in Wales focussed on tackling poverty and inequality.  Most recently, she led member relations for Tai Pawb, a charity which addresses equality and diversity in the Welsh housing sector, including the housing needs of refugees. Helen was born and bred in Cardiff and has learned Welsh as a second language.

Helen says “It’s been a huge pleasure starting to get to know some of our supporters through phone conversations in the run-up to our Christmas appeal.  As a personal supporter of Christian Aid for many years, it’s a real privilege to join the team.  My focus is on making sure our supporters in Wales get all the support they need to carry out their fantastic activities for Christian Aid and putting processes in place behind the scenes to ensure this happens.”

Miriam Watling

Miriam is our Central Supporter Engagement Co-ordinator in Wales. She is based in our national office in Cardiff.

Miriam Watling CSET

Miriam is a first language Welsh speaker, originally from Mold, but recently having returned to Wales after a year living in Australia.  Christian Aid has been a big part of Miriam’s life since childhood through her family.  Since leaving university, she has worked with children and young people, including leading worship and using theatre to educate, build confidence and create safe spaces.

Miriam says, “I’ve been with Christian Aid since October and the best part of my job is hearing about what you, our supporters, are getting up to! I’m very excited to be here and always more than happy to help in any way! Please do give us a call in the national office, we’d love to hear from you”.
