Remembrance and Thanksgiving

We’ve all been through enormous change and loss during the coronavirus pandemic.

If you are feeling a more general sense of loss, we have created some virtual spaces where you and your church can carve out time for reflection.

Service of Reflection

This special service of reflection is a time to come together in our grief in this difficult year and to remember and celebrate those we love, who are no longer here. The service is introduced by Amanda Mukwashi, our Chief Executive, and includes a sermon from Dr Rowan Williams. It will give time and space for personal reflection, and an opportunity to light a candle in memory, should you wish.

“We seem to give them back to you Lord, those whom you gave to us. Yet you did not lose them by giving so we have not lost them by their return.”

Another Way to Remember

Each year we facilitate a walk in memory of those we have loved and lost. This years’ beautiful service of remembrance was led by Rev Maggie Roderick. Through candles, poems and music, Maggie reflects on hope after loss.

May we look backwards with thanksgiving, forward with courage and upwards with faith.
