Christian Aid is delighted to be welcoming three international activists on women’s rights and gender justice to Scotland in September. Memory Kachambwa is the Executive Director of Christian Aid’s partner FEMNET, the African Women’s Development and Communication Network based in Nairobi. She is an intersectional feminist and women’s rights activist with over 18 years of experience working on issues of gender and development, women’s empowerment and human rights. Dr Marianna Leite, Christian Aid’s Global Lead for Gender and Inequality, is an international human rights lawyer, activist and specialist in gender and development based in Brazil. At Christian Aid Marianna works on the development of holistic approaches to gender and intersecting inequalities that ensure equality of outcomes and rights for all. Talat Yaqoob is the chair of the Women 5050 campaign and member of the First Minister's National Advisory Council on Women and Girls. Talat is also the Director of Equate Scotland. She has a background in public affairs, campaigning, social research and training and development across equalities issues.
