Recontextualising a revolution: a unique opportunity to re-appraise the history of nonviolent resistance in Palestine. Most images of the first Intifada are of stone-throwing Palestinian youths facing off Israeli tanks. This hopeful documentary tells the story that history overlooked, and pays tribute to the thousands of women whose grassroots organising was the beating heart of this spontaneous uprising. Beyond the screen The film’s main protagonist, Naila Ayesh, founder and director of the Women’s Affair Centre in Gaza will lead a post-film discussion. She will be joined by other guests including Sofiah MacLeod (Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign). Join us for inspiring conversations and opportunities for creative, effective action.
