Building values-based businesses that both make profit and positively impact the world around us has never been more important. This Salt Network event we welcome Matt Edmundson, serial entrepreneur, innovator and values based leader.

The event is a time to network with like minded people from across the faith and business world and through conversation and round table discussion, unpack how we can develop company culture that transforms our staff, strategy and impact on the world around us.

 

SPEAKER: MATT EDMUNDSON

 

I've been around the world of eCommerce since 2002, and that's turned me into a bit of an eCommerce fanboy (which, according to Google is someone who behaves in an obsessive or overexcited way). Three brilliant companies have emerged during that time:

1. Jersey: my own eCommerce company that has now shipped over 7 million products around the world from our depot in Liverpool, UK. We even do fulfilment for other eCommerce companies too!

2. Kurious Agency: a digital and eCommerce Agency. There are plenty of website agencies that could create eCommerce websites, BUT we couldn't find an agency that understood how to run an eCommerce business, so we created one!

3. Matt Edmundson: eCommerce coaching and mentoring. I get to travel all over the world, coaching and mentoring folks in eCommerce. Someone has to do it! I also offer online courses the Mastermind groups through my website.

I am a business guy who has had more failures than successes; it is just that my successes far out-weigh my failures. More importantly, I have a great team that can make magic happen. I've got a bit of a loud mouth (in a good way!), and I'm always bouncing new ideas around. I am someone who likes to challenge the 'norm'. I get a kick out of developing teams so that capabilities match the company culture. I know that 'culture' is the most important thing for me to focus on so that work stands for something more than just a paycheque.

If I could afford it I would buy Liverpool Football Club for no sensible reason: I'm just a fan. My kids would prefer me to buy an Aston Martin, and my wife would prefer me to spend the money on the house (or donate it). Being a family man I exercise the skills of negotiation and compromise: I buy gadgets.
