Christian Aid Week in Wimborne

Event details

Christian Aid Week – 12-18 May in the Wimborne Area We are planning various events over Christian Aid Week this year in the Wimborne Area. The week is a very important time for Christian Aid and it demonstrates the commitment of people like you, either through helping at the events or by supporting through your donations. So thank you very much for your support and we hope you will be able to come to one or more of the following events: Morning Service on Sunday 12 May at 10.30am at Wimborne Methodist Church with David Pain who is the new Diocesan Secretary and a former director of Christian Aid. All are welcome. Parish lunch on Sunday 12 May at 12.30pm at St Michael's Church Centre, Colehill. All are welcome on a first-come-first-served basis. To reserve a place – and booking is essential – please contact Sharen Green on Two cup cake stalls on Wednesday 15 May, 10am-12pm. One will be at Wimborne Methodist Church and the other will be outside Church House as usual if there is no rain. If you would like to help by providing some cup cakes, they can be delivered to Wimborne Methodist Church on Tuesday 14 May between 10am-12pm, otherwise please bring them on the day. Envelopes for donations will be provided at the 'B@9' (breakfast at 9am) on Sunday 12 May in the Canford Church Hall (the Canford Magna Centre). B@9 is for the whole family and tracks through the Bible in easily manageable chunks. Street collection on Friday 17 May in Wimborne Town Centre using collecting tins. Please look out for us – we'll be wearing red tabards. The collection is being arranged by Hilda Butler and I know she is still looking for collectors. If you are able and willing to collect for an hour, please get in touch.  Last but by no means least, there will be a house-to-house collection throughout the week delivering and collection collection envelopes to and from individual houses. Many of you will have collected in this way in the past and we would like to thank you for your support. This can be a very effective way of collecting and it brings Christian Aid into every house along a road. If you would like to help, please contact Mike Lunt on 01202 889487 or the Christian Aid contact in your church. Thank you once again for all your support for Christian Aid, and please get in touch if you would like more details of any of these events and activities.
