This year in Purton we have lots of exciting things to do to raise money during Christian Aid Week. We'd love you to join us. We stand together with mums in Sierra Leone - the world’s most dangerous place to become a mum. Ten women die in giving birth every day. We have a variety of events to support Christian Aid Week. Your gifts could help provide better health clinics and hygiene for help mums to give birth safely. Please come and support us in our fundraising efforts in Purton. Saturday 11 May: plants and cakes sale with a raffle 8:30am, Top Shops. Donations of cakes, scones, biscuits, jams all welcome. Tuesday 14 May: sale of baby items 9:30am-3pm, PIPs community cafe. Do you have any outgrown baby stuff that is ready for a new home? We're looking for baby clothes, small toys, books, all suitable for 0-4 year-olds. There will be two ways to sell: either you ‘buy’ a small table (£5) or larger table (£10) for the day and you take responsibility for your items and keep all the money you make; or you let us sell the items for you, and we share the money equally. If the latter, please bring them to PIPs at 9.15am, priced and labelled with your name and phone number. (We can’t accept large items, so no cots, prams, buggies please.) If you want your unsold items back, you must collect them between 3-3:30pm, if not they will be donated to other charities. Please contact Libbie on 771018 or Mary on 770505 for more details.
