Originally from Canada, Suzanne has over twenty years' experience as a journalist and communications professional. She joined the Research Evidence and Learning team in 2020 and specialises in communications planning for research uptake and impact. She has carried out strategic roles within the University of Sussex, international development think tanks, and INGOs. She recently worked with senior leadership within the University of Sussex to profile research strengths and impact and led the development of innovative digital content formats, including podcasts, digital video, animations and infographics. She has led the development of complex digital projects, including website redesigns and migrations.

She has led participatory communications projects and developed audience participation-based approaches when producing serial dramas in Burkina Faso and in Rwanda where she was the country manager of an educational peace-building radio project. She has produced radio features and documentaries, including for the BBC World Service, from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Burundi and Liberia.

She has a Masters in Environment and Development (with distinction) from SOAS and a Masters in Radio from Goldsmiths.
