Hilary has worked as a research, evidence and learning adviser for Christian Aid in London since 2016. The role involves directly undertaking research, and accompanying or training staff on research and evidence. 

Before coming to Christian Aid, Hilary coordinated a multi-partner mental health research programme looking at military veteran’s mental health with the Centre for Mental Health and Kings College London.  

Hilary completed a PhD on British military masculinities at the University of Edinburgh, and holds a Masters in Arab World Studies, including intensive Arabic language training. Hilary’s interests include militarism and peace building; global mental health; inclusive research; and the use of digital methods in service delivery, data collection and analysis.
