Alejandro has 14 years experience of research into climate science, biological conservation and environmental policies. He joined Christian Aid in 2018 and is based in Madrid at the InspirAction office.
As Climate Change Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean, Alejandro contributes to meeting Christian Aid's objectives on climate action: delivering the Paris Agreement, helping to build resilience for the most vulnerable populations, and calling to shift finance from fossil fuels to sustainable energy.
Before coming to Christian Aid, he worked for Friends of the Earth Spain, where he first campaigned for a Climate Change Act, before becoming Environmental Director.
Alejandro is biologist and has a PhD on climate science and biodiversity conservation, conducted through the Spanish Research Council. He also holds MScs in bioinformatics, and geomatics and geographical information systems.
