This Christian Aid Week (12-18 May) we’ve been energised and enthused in equal measures by your amazing support.
Whether you delivered envelopes or hosted a Big Brekkie, you’ve given your time to raise funds to help some of the poorest communities in the world. You still have time to get involved, so donate today
Here are a few fantastic ways you celebrated Christian Aid Week:
- In Hagley, possibly our youngest collector 19 month old, Evie Fox, assisted her mum delivering envelopes. Her mum Sian told us: ‘She had a great time, bless her - she doesn’t have lots of words yet but one of them is “door!"’
- In York, members of Haxby and Wigginton Methodist church collectively walked or ran the distance between York and Freetown, Sierra Leone (some 7,000 miles!) in solidarity with mums who have to travel long distances to deliver their babies. They’ve raised nearly £100 so far.
- In Belfast, brownie guides raised almost £500 on a sponsored 8km cycle round Musgrave Park on a lovely evening in Christian Aid Week.
- In Froyle Village Hall, Hampshire, many enjoyed coffee and cake, including the local cycling club who stopped by for a drink. They raised £300
Your gifts will help save lives for people like Jebbeh in Sierra Leone - the world's most dangerous place to give birth.
Our Chief Executive Amanda Mukwashi pays tribute to you:
'I would like to share my thanks for all your energy and enthusiasm that went into this special week. When we come together, we are able to achieve a true transformation.'
Thank you for standing with us. There’s still time to donate if you haven't already.
