Why is this important?
We are facing a global climate emergency, with climate change devastating the world’s poorest communities right now. More extreme weather events, from flooding to droughts, have driven families from their homes and created food crises.
People like Lope and Eva in the Philippines, pictured above, are struggling to make a living, as climate change raises water temperatures and ferocious super-typhoons destroy whole communities.
It's also affecting women like Aster in Ethiopia who struggle to feed their children when the rains don’t come and crops burn on the stalk.
Millions more of our sisters and brothers are battling climate change right now.
Globally, we need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to ‘net zero’. As the first country to industrialise, and one of the richest nations in the world, it’s only right that Britain leads the way out of this current crisis.
Fill in the form on the right and call on the UK Government to put a net zero greenhouse gas target by 2045 into law and an emergency package of policies and investment to reduce emissions as quickly as possible – now.
