Christian Aid works with the private sector to help tackle poverty

Christian Aid and the private sector

The private sector is essential to addressing the causes and consequences of poverty.

By inviting business leaders to work with us, and with each other, we are creating a unique movement that unites the strengths of faith and business to tackle global poverty.

The support of national and international businesses committed to responsible business and investment practices is essential to achieving a world without poverty. Business plays an essential role in job creation, technological innovation and economic development.

When run in a sustainable way, business can create a route out of poverty for the developing world. The private sector is therefore at the heart of the partnerships that Christian Aid seeks to build.

The Sustainable Development Goals underline the importance of partnerships built on shared vision and values to mobilise the strengths of private, public and civil society.

The Sustainable Development Goals provide a powerful aspiration for improving our world – laying out collectively where we need to go and how to get there. Responsible business and investment will be essential to achieving this transformational change.

This network will be motivated to learn about, support and engage in sustainable solutions for some of the world’s poorest communities. Reframing what it means to be in business.

Together we can be more ambitious and more effective in the work we do – learning from each other, supporting each other, thinking more creatively and inspiring each other to do better and achieve more.
