ITL projects play a critical role in addressing Christian Aid's goal to see an end to global poverty.
When an ITL project is proposed, the first thing we ask is how it meets at least one of our strategic objectives. For example, our Humanitarian Spaces project, in Colombia, addresses the objective 'Tackling Violence and Building Peace'.
Once a project is approved, we then assess its environmental, social and economic impacts.
Each quarter, all projects are assessed on the following ITL-specific criteria:
- Sustainability – the extent to which the project is bringing sustainable change to people's lives.
- Scalability – how the project-approach can be scaled up to more beneficiaries in the same region or in other countries.
- Learnings – what we can learn from the project and apply across both ITL and the development sector as a whole.
