Today in Bethlehem hope is in short supply.
Many Israeli and Palestinian children caught in the literal and emotional cross-fire of the conflict in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories have lived a childhood of pain and fear. For Palestinian children living in impoverished areas such as the West Bank, the struggle can be extreme.
But Christian Aid partner the YMCA also works from there. Because of the YMCA, Noor Rabia and other injured children across the West Bank can see hope for their future.
This Christmas, we are focusing on the work of the YMCA rehabilitation centre in Bethlehem, as an emblem of new hope and life, in our work and in the world.
