The march for justice begins

October 2011

Hundreds of people here in the UK are signing up to Christian Aid organised walks under the banner 'March for Justice', in solidarity with those marching in India throughout the coming year.

In 2012, our partner Ekta Parishad in India will lead some 300,000 landless people, some walking barefoot, on a 350km march from Gwalior (near the Taj Mahal) to Delhi.

The marches are calling on the government to implement swiftly land and legal reforms that could transform the lives of hundreds of millions of Indians living in poverty.
