Silvia used to live right beside a drainage ditch and her home flooded every single year. With no way to effectively protect the house from the floodwaters, Christian Aid's partner MCM has supplied building materials for Silvia to relocate. She and her husband have just finished building their new home.
With its long Caribbean coastline, Nicaragua often bears the brunt of the hurricanes and tropical storms that sweep across the Atlantic each winter.
