In 2006 renowned war artist John Keane visited Angola with Christian Aid. The resulting pictures formed the centrepiece of the subsequent Children in Conflict exhibition that has been touring the UK and Ireland.
The latest dates in 2009 are: Liverpool Cathedral (May 1-17); Aberystwyth Arts Centre (May 16-June 24); General Assembly of the Church of Scotland (May 19-June 2); Coventry's Herbert Art Gallery (July 11-September 13); and the Edinburgh Festival (July 28-September 1).
Angola’s children have lived through incredible traumas. Many lost parents and siblings and saw their friends murdered. Some were forced to become child soldiers. Other families spent years moving from place to place as they fled both rebel and government forces.
