Christian Aid is once more supporting Solas Festival, which takes place this month at The Bield, in rural Perthshire. With the XX Commonwealth Games just around the corner, this year's festival has a Commonwealth theme.
From 20 to 22 June, Christian Aid Scotland will be at Solas Festival, the all-age weekend arts festival near Tibbermore, Perthshire which will feature performances and workshops in music, theatre, dance, literature and visual arts, as well as a programme of talks and debates.
This year's festival celebrates the best of culture from around the Commonwealth and beyond, and considers Scotland's identity and place in the wider world ahead of the September referendum.
Musicians King Creosote and Rachel Sermanni, writers Liz Lochhead, Alasdair Gray and James Robertson, academic Tom Devine, and comedians Josie Long and Robin Ince are amongst those confirmed to appear.
Ahead of this year's event, Frankie Campbell, Solas Festival Coordinator said: 'We’re really proud of the line-up for our fifth festival. It’s eclectic, international and of superb quality, distilling the best of music, arts and thought-provoking debate from throughout Scotland and beyond into one charmingly packed weekend.'
Bringing big ideas to little tents, you'll get more than you bargained for at this pint-sized summer festival - see you there!
