Justice and Worship Workshop

Saturday 26 May 2012 - 2pm to 5pm

Central Hall Westminster

Justice and Worship workshopIn a world full of poverty, those who lead in worship and prayer are looking for fresh ways to connect the church with God’s desire for justice. Come and join us as we explore these themes in new practical and interactive sessions.

This year the Justice & Worship Workshop will be part of Pentecost Festival, the amazing annual celebration of Church’s birthday in the heart of London. It will also takes place in a new venue - Central Hall, Westminster.

We’re delighted to have Andy Freeman from 24-7 Prayer with us. Andy was part of the team that pioneered 24-7's first Boiler Room community and is now a trainee ordinand with the Church of England. He is currently helping plant a 24-7 Community/Fresh Expression church and is involved with Just 24-7 and 24-7's partnership with Fresh Expressions. Andy’s session is called Living out our Worship in which he’ll discuss with us how we can embody the songs we sing and the words we pray.

Liz Baddaley will be leading a session on Worshipping and Praying with and for the Nations to explore creative practical ideas to help churches on a journey to the place where world and worship meet. Liz is a worship leader, song-writer and wordsmith who is passionate about pursuing God's presence and his heart for justice. She spent five years at Christian Aid writing and managing the production of worship and church resources. Liz now co-runs The Sanctuary - a centre for worship and prayer focussing on justice issues.

There will be an excellent range of helpful resources at the workshop to help keep you and your church inspired.

The workshop is open to all involved in leading worship - both musicians and non-musicians.

  • I've had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice - oceans of it. I want fairness - rivers of it. That's what I want.'

Amos 5:23-24
