1 Corinthians 12, 11
Something to read
All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.

Something to think about
I wonder if it is right to say: ‘Once you try to organise a revival it will die!’
I suppose that statement comes from the premise that revival is the work of the Holy Spirit. We may be a part of the work, but on the whole we are the onlookers.
I have at times heard people say that as the Sunday Service ended, the Spirit moved, worship and ministry began (an interesting comment).
Jesus told Nicodemus: ‘The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.' (John 3:8)
As we explore spiritual gifts, ministries and activities, we have to accept that God is sovereign in all these matters, and at times we, like Job, will wonder where He is.
Paul in today’s text confirms this, as he states that it is the Spirit who allots the gifts as He chooses. They are not earned or deserved, they are given by a gracious God (grace means undeserved love), so pride and arrogance has no room in ministry.
No wonder God has been described as a ‘God of Surprises’.
Are you willing to be surprised by God? It’s your decision.
Something to do
List all the people who have helped you in your spiritual journey.
Think about the gifts they may have had.
Something to pray
Lord I am aware that often I do things in my own strength
Lord in your mercy forgive me
In the 'busyness' of this day
May I be available for you to use
Lord in your mercy hear my prayer
