Andrew Hogg, news/campaigns editor

Andrew Hogg is a former news editor of the Sunday Times and Observer and was editor of The Sunday Times Insight investigative unit. He was also that paper’s Africa correspondent and Middle East correspondent. Before working at Christian Aid he was head of press at the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.

Karen Hedges

Karen Hedges, acting public relations manager

Karen Hedges organises media relations activities, high profile events and competitions and devises imaginative media stunts. She has worked in public relations for nine years. She spent the majority of 2003 living in Madagascar working for a small HIV charity, before joining Christian Aid in March 2004.

Sarah Wilson leads Christian Aid's media work for Latin America and the Caribbean. She joined Christian Aid from Channel 4 News and has written for the Independent, Guardian and Mirror. She has reported from Rwanda, Angola and Sudan for the Scotsman.

Paul Peachey

Paul Peachey, international journalist

Paul Peachey leads on Christian Aid’s media work for Asia and the Middle East. He has been based in India, Thailand and Hong Kong for Agence France-Presse. Previous jobs have been at The Associated Press, The Independent newspaper and as crime correspondent for The Press Association. He has worked on television investigations and radio documentaries.

Emma Pomfret

Emma leads Christian Aid's media work for Africa. She joined Christian Aid after spending more than a year working as a press officer for an NGO in Malawi. Prior to this Emma worked at The Press Association for six years as a senior features writer, and has also worked for News International and The Observer.

Gillian Sandford

Gillian Sandford, regional and religious journalist

Gillian has extensive experience in broadcast and print journalism. She reported for BBC radio in Wales and London and worked in the regional press in Plymouth, Leeds and Middlesbrough. She was deputy news editor on The European, then Belgrade correspondent for Time magazine and The Guardian during the Kosovo war and its aftermath. She has also worked for several UK charities in campaigns press work and in Darfur and Afghanistan.

Adrian Horsman, media manager, Ireland

Adrian Horsman was a TV/radio journalist in Dublin and Belfast for 25 years before joining Christian Aid Ireland in 2005. He has a special interest in Africa and in 1992/93 he reported regularly for BBC Five Live and South Africa’s 702 Talk Radio while cycling from Algiers to Cape Town.
