Our New Philanthropy service has been created in response to increasing wealth in the UK, which has risen exponentially in the last ten years. Barclay’s Wealth cites that in 1996 only 2% of the population had wealth of more than £500,000.
Now the figure is estimated to be as much as 12% and is projected to rise to 26% by 2016.
According to the research group Fundratios, there has been a 77% increase in philanthropic giving, as the wealthy increasingly desire to ‘give something back’ to the causes closest to them.
Furthermore, research carried out by the Scorpio Partnership from across Europe indicates that wealth advisers are receiving up to five requests for philanthropy services a month – and this is expected to rise.
