After 80 days and 1,000 miles, Christian Aid's historic Cut the Carbon march crossed the finishing line – but the campaign goes on.
The 18 marchers from Britain and the developing world were joined by hundreds of supporters for the final mile from outside London's City Hall to a rally outside St Paul's Cathedral.

Meeting the PM – and then hearing him make some encouraging noises about government targets. Doorstepping big polluters including Morrisons, International Power and United Biscuits. Taking part in the Heathrow Climate Camp. Rallies in Edinburgh, Leeds, Cardiff and Birmingham.

The government's draft Climate Change Bill, outlined in the Queen's Speech, calls for 60% reductions in UK carbon emissions by 2050. Poor countries need us to make cuts of at least 80%.
You can make a difference
It's by no means out of our grasp. Gordon Brown says he's open to a bigger cut and environment secretary Hilary Benn echoed this when he unveiled the government's plans recently.
But vague suggestions are not enough. What we need to see from our policymakers is firm statements – and urgent action.
