Matthew Tudgey
For lending us his �Sticky Bench�, which is made entirely from sustainable beech. The branches supporting the bench have been positioned to look like a forest thinning out towards one end. The designer wanted to create a contrast between the machined, clean wood and the raw branches of the tree.

Samrey Wind turbines
For lending us the turbines for the garden. The UK has 40 per cent of Europe�s total wind energy. But it�s still largely untapped and only 0.5 per cent of our electricity comes from wind power. Domestic turbines are now on the market, but be careful to check whether your garden is appropriate to house one. The turbines at Grand Designs are the smallest of the Samrey range but in average winds is capable of generating 500 kWh per year, saving 215kg of CO2.
They can be used to charge batteries for off-grid applications, e.g. leisure, marine, remote monitoring, agricultural, developing world and with mobile units. Alternatively, they can be connected to the grid and used to generate mains power to be used within a home.
