Now you can give even while you’re filling out your tax return form. If you’re a Self Assessment Taxpayer, you can use the form to donate to charity all or part of any repayment due to them. This process is carried out through Inland Revenue partner Legatio. Their FastTax calculator could save you £30.
You can complete your tax return form off-line in your office or at home (in your PJs, if you like). FastTax then calculates your tax liability, leaving you to decide whether to donate all, a part or none of your tax rebate to Christian Aid.
Whatever you choose to give goes straight to our bank account. If you like, you can also decide to gift aid your donation. This means that for every £10 donated, Christian Aid can claim an extra £2.82 from the Inland Revenue, making your gift worth 28% more.
We recommend that you use this service to file your tax return. Why? Well, the Inland Revenue will process any donation you give much sooner. This way, money reaches those who need it most, and brings us a small step closer to ending world poverty.
If you don’t fancy filling in your form online, you can always quote our reference code MAA86XG on your paper form. It’s another way to help the poorest people help themselves.
