Volunteering is right at the heart of our work. Hundreds of people give their time freely to run events, speak about our work, help out in offices, lead school assemblies, get stories in the local media and much more.
We welcome volunteers all year round, whether you have just a few hours, days or even a whole year to spare.

Why get involved?
Volunteering is about you. If you want to use your skills or develop new ones, then Christian Aid may have a role that matches your needs perfectly.
You will meet new people who share your concerns, and who may stretch your own perceptions.
Volunteering for Christian Aid is also about the bigger picture.
You’ll do things that help people on the other side of the world. You’ll learn about the issues that affect their lives, and take action in a way that really makes a difference for people living in poverty.
So what can you do?
All sorts! Christian Aid offers a wide range of opportunities across the UK and Ireland.
You will receive training, support and out-of-pocket expenses.
Christian Aid recruits its volunteers through national volunteering database, www.do-it.org.uk. Currently we are highlighting some exciting new roles we are currently recruiting for in our London office. Find out more by clicking on the links below:

Office support volunteer
Do you want a behind-the-scenes view of the daily work of a global development agency? Looking to use or improve your administrative skills? Then help out at one of Christian Aid’s local or national offices.
Speaker
Have you ever wondered how people find out about Christian Aid’s concerns on global poverty? Then help them discover these issues by volunteering to speak on our behalf. Training is provided to enhance your excellent communication skills and hone your passion for justice.
Legacies speaker
Did you know that Christian Aid raises more than £7 million a year through legacies? As a legacies speaker you will raise awareness of how Christian Aid generates its income and encourage people to support our work in a variety of ways - but particularly by leaving a legacy.
Media volunteer
Saw something about Christian Aid in your local paper lately? Chances are one of our media volunteers helped get it there. Help us make sure our work continues to get the highest possible profile in local media. Training is provided.
Volunteer teacher
If you like working with children and enjoy finding out about the world, volunteering as a Christian Aid teacher is a great way to spread the word on our work.
As a good communicator with experience of working with children, you’ll take assemblies, help with lessons and lead workshops in global awareness. We offer flexible volunteering opportunities, free education resources and occasional opportunities to meet overseas partners.
