Inspired by fundraisers across the UK and Ireland who raise money each Christian Aid Week, in May 2011 an intrepid team of 15 members of staff from Christian Aid’s Nairobi office climbed Mount Kenya.
At 5,199 metres high, Mount Kenya dwarfs all peaks in the UK and Ireland and is higher even than Europe’s Mount Blanc.
As the team prepares for this significant undertaking, Martin Mbalu talks about why they chose to take on this challenge and what has been keeping them going through the difficult times in their training.
