A massive congratulations and thanks to the children of Mill View Primary School in Chester who raised £288.79 for Christian Aid’s Harvest appeal.
The Year 6 class based their RE work on the theme of Christian charities and, according to Deputy Headteacher David Wallace, used ‘many of the excellent resources’ on the Christian Aid website.
As part of the school’s harvest celebrations, Year 6 asked other children in the school to help them collect 1p and 2p coins.
So many coins were collected that they were able to use them to write out ‘Christian Aid Harvest Year 6’ in the school playground.
According to the deputy head, the coins weighed an incredible amount and took more than an hour for a class of 30 pupils to count.
