Mothering Sunday 2014 resources

Naima and Hero are both mothers living in Iraq. In a country where many do not value women as equal to men, life can be hard.

Hero lives with her young son in a shelter for women escaping domestic violence, run by our partner, ASUDA.

Naima’s son, Diyari, is disabled. Until recently, she had to carry him anywhere he needed to go. Life has been made easier for her since our partner, REACH, gave Diyari a wheelchair.

Bring Naima and Hero's stories alive in your church with our complete Mothering Sunday (Mother's Day) package...

This year our Mothering Sunday church materials reflect on shelter, protection and hope. All of these are at risk in Iraq - where young mother Hero is sheltering in a refuge - all of which our partner, ASUDA, aims to provide and all of which we look to receive in God. Our sermon notes consider Bible texts that relate stories of vulnerability and offer us shelter and protection in God’s promise of life.
