Christian Aid in the North West believes that extreme poverty can be eradicated. We have a vision of a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. We are working to make that vision a reality.
We want to build a movement of people to pray, act and give to fight poverty and injustice around the world, giving hope to millions.
How we can help
We are here to support individuals, clergy, churches and groups in any way we can. We can:
provide speakers for your church, youth group or school
run workshops
provide resources for your fundraiser or event
promote your event or story on our website
offer advice and support.
Our speakers can share stories from our partners overseas, who work on the ground in the poorest communities.
We also run our own events, where supporters can be meet each other, be inspired and share experiences. These include pre-CAW events, Advent Hope services and Once and for All presentations.
Christian Aid Week
In 2011, 316 Christian Aid groups, 2,000 churches and almost 12,000 collectors raised just under £1m during Christian Aid Week in the North West.
Fundraising
During the rest of the year we work with groups like the Lytham Ecumenical Partnership who raised nearly £6,000 for an EU-supported project in Sierra Leone that in turn enabled us to treble the amount they gave.
All over the North West people are doing sponsored walks, abseils, fish and chip quiz nights and Lent lunches, as well as signing campaign postcards, attending vigils and so much more.
We want people to know what a difference their support makes and how their prayers, actions and donations are bringing hope to people living in poverty around the world.
