Working with Megan, our Speak Up campaign volunteer

Megan Campaigns Volunteer

Megan Anderson has been volunteering as a Campaigns Assistant for the Speak Up Week of Action campaign over the summer months.

She's also in her final year at the London School of Economics, where she studies International Relations and Development. When not in London, she lives here in the North East.

Megan says: 'My work here at Christian Aid allows me to gain experience of campaigning within the international development field, especially on issues relating to climate change, as well as helping with campaigns that hit closer to home. In return, I get to use knowledge I’ve gained throughout my degree, as well as local info, to help with the Speak Up campaign.'
The Speak Up campaign is part of the work of the climate change coalition, which specifically aims to to call on local MPs and the government to deliver the national plan to meet global climate change ambitions, as set out in the COP 21 conference in Paris last year.

People across the UK will be inviting their MPs to nature walks, tea parties, visits to community energy projects and all sorts of other events to start conversations about climate change.

Sadly Megan will soon be leaving us to return to university, but we're so thankful for everything she's done. We would be pleased to hear from anyone who'd be interested in continuing Megan's role.
