Hannah cycles London to Paris

Hannah Griffiths training for her London to Paris bike ride15 April 2012

Regional coordinator Hannah Griffiths is gearing up to cycle hundreds of miles this summer to raise money for Christian Aid's partners around the world.

'Meeting our supporters every day I am always amazed to hear the inspiring ways that people raise money for Christian Aid, so I decided it was time I set myself a challenge.

'Between 18 and 22 July 2012 I will be joining a team of other cyclists to ride the rather daunting 284 miles from London to Paris.

'Many people that know me think I will find this a doddle as I am quite active - playing netball and football every week. But I can assure you this won't be the case! I have never cycled more than 30 miles, so it certainly will be a challenge.

'Completing the ride will be difficult enough but I've also committed to raise £1,300 for Christian Aid. I have boundless motivation and enthusiasm for this after visiting Christian Aid's partners in Cambodia in 2010.

'It was an inspiring journey and the projects we visited are doing amazing work transforming communities and addressing the roots causes of poverty.

'One way I am raising my sponsorship is by running a sunflower growing competition, getting friends and colleagues to compete against each other to grow the tallest sunflower. The winner will gain pride, respect, and £30 of garden centre vouchers!'
