Big Sing Raises £1,000

Big Sing 2015 singing

Wednesday 27 January 2016

A magical evening of carols performed by Nottinghamshire primary schools raised well over £1,000 for Christian Aid’s Christmas Appeal.

Hosted by Mansfield’s Sandworth Church Academy and organised by Christian Aid in partnership with the Nottingham and Southwell Diocese, the event featured five Nottinghamshire schools:
• Skegby, St Andrews
• Ravenshead C of E Primary
• Hucknall National Primary
• Calverton, St Wilfrids C of E Primary
• Farnsfield St Michaels.

Over 250 people were present to enjoy the wonderful singing on 10 December. Christian Aid regional staff also shared personal stories of their visits to projects bringing hope and transformation to communities around the world.

Delighted

Jane Lewis, Diocesan Schools Adviser, said: 'The children who took part sang brilliantly and made a great sound. Once again we are delighted as a diocese to be partnering with Christian Aid. This event gives us and the young people in our church schools the opportunity to share together in the work of "Seeking Justice", a strand of our diocesan mission statement.’
