There are many ways for your company to work in partnership with Christian Aid to ensure that we can continue our vital work to eradicate poverty around the world. AquAid, the largest independent water cooler supplier in the country, has done just this and raised more than £2 million for Christian Aid in the process.
AquAid supplies water coolers to offices and donates 10p to water projects in poor countries for every 19-litre water bottle it sells. Working with Christian Aid makes good business sense as well as being the right thing to do, according to managing director, Paul Searle. ‘We wanted an aid agency with a profile that people would recognise,’ he explains. ‘We approached three and Christian Aid were the only ones prepared to work with us on our terms.’
By sponsoring particular Christian Aid events or activities or running a special promotion linked to your products, you can enhance your company’s profile, boost sales, and be a crucial part of our work to end poverty.
Sponsorship
With more than 25 offices throughout the UK and Ireland, Christian Aid can provide excellent sponsorship opportunities for you to promote your brand both locally and nationally. Projects and events range from educational materials for schools to art exhibitions and sponsored challenges such as the London Marathon.

Cause-related marketing
Donating to Christian Aid as part of a promotion, or from sales of products, can create positive associations for your brand as a whole and give particular products an added appeal. While the funds you commit will make an important difference to our work, you’ll also be making a worthwhile investment in increasing customer loyalty and expanding your customer base.
Affinity products
If your company has an ethical outlook or a range of products or services likely to have a special appeal to Christian Aid supporters, why not consider developing an affinity partnership with us? Every new Christian Aid supporter you enlist will enhance your business and trigger extra support for our work.
For example, we have teamed up with The Co-op Bank to provide the Christian Aid credit card.
‘81% of consumers… are more likely to buy a product that is associated with a cause they care about, price and quality being equal.’ The Ultimate Win Win Win, Business in the Community
The card is promoted to our supporters, and every new account means not only a new customer for the bank but also a £15 donation to Christian Aid. We also receive 25p every time someone spends £100. It may not sound like much, but it all adds up.
Employee fundraising
A fundraising event is a good way to motivate your staff. It encourages team building and gives you and your employees the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in the world.
We can help you with ideas for an event and provide you with resources to make it a success.
Payroll giving – making giving simple and tax free
You can encourage your employees to make a direct, tax-free donation to Christian Aid through payroll giving. Their gift comes straight from your payroll, so it’s as straightforward as paying National Insurance and it’s really easy to set up.
